The Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology (L&C IoT) is not one place, but a collaboration of organisations focused on delivering outstanding technical training in partnership with business to address skills gaps and anticipate future needs.
As an IoT student or apprentice, you are part of a national network. The IoT offers industry-leading facilities, equipment and training across multiple industries, including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital and cyber, engineering, health and science and sustainability.
Throughout your programme of learning, you will receive regular content to help you stay informed about events and opportunities, and feel part of the wider IoT community. These optional opportunities are here for you to get the most from your experience.
Take part in visits to partner colleges, universities, research centres and employer sites to experience cutting-edge equipment and see your learning in action.
Study a curriculum designed with employers to develop the skills and knowledge that are in demand today and in tomorrow’s job market.
Every student will have the opportunity to create a LinkedIn profile and video CV support to help you stand out and prepare for your next steps into employment.
You will be invited to attend IoT events, with talks from industry experts, educators and employers to learn about real-world challenges and innovation.
Access special ‘golden ticket’ events hosted by our university partners. These offer unique opportunities to explore higher education environments and meet leading professionals.
You’ll have access to additional modules such as AI, sustainability, innovation, and the language of business. These will be accredited by our university partners and help strengthen your CV and qualifications.
Become a STEM Ambassador and inspire others by sharing your knowledge and representing your subject and college at outreach events.
You will have the chance to enter high-level competitions, including World Skills, to showcase your talents on national and international stages.
