Institute of Technology courses starting in the new year at Nelson and Colne College cover engineering, healthcare management, computing and construction.
There are a range of qualifications available including Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND), Certificates of Higher Education (CertHE), degrees (BEng) and foundation degrees (FdA) that can be studied full-time or part-time at either the Nelson and Colne or Accrington and Rossendale sites, depending on the course you choose. The college also offers an IoT HND Engineering as an online option.

Preston College has flexible 12-week courses on offer, starting in January, that offer the chance to study modules derived from longer construction and engineering qualifications.
The Modular Acceleration Programme (MAP) is a two-year government pilot, providing free tuition fees for learners, open to anyone looking to retrain in a new career or upskill to enhance existing career prospects.

Apprenticeships are available with January starts at Blackpool and The Fylde College for those in the digital, health and automotive sectors. The IoT’s Blackpool site offers industry-focused courses designed to help you upskill or reskill to career success, many of which are free or have no upfront fees.
There are degree apprenticeships for those wanting to work as a Digital and Technology Solutions Professional, with specialisms in the areas of business analyst, cyber security analyst, data analyst, software engineer and IT consultant. The college also offers a Data Analyst Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship as well as a Certificate of Higher Education in Cyber Security.
