The Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire, Amanda Parker, got the chance to see cutting-edge automation robots and world-leading medical equipment when she visited Lancashire and Cumbria Institute of Technology’s Burnley site.

Mrs Parker was welcomed for an exclusive tour of the facilities at Burnley College as part of the IoT’s mission to upskill and reskill the region with world-class technical training and knowledge.

As part of her tour, she was shown the very latest industry-leading equipment and technologies in the college’s impressive Engineering Centre for Excellence, including five-axis CNC machines and automation cobots.

She experienced the Esports Suites with Williams F1 rigs as well as leading healthcare equipment like the IoT’s Anatomage Table and Patient Simulation Robots, used in training the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Mrs Parker discovered how Burnley College is one of our seven academic partners leading the way in delivering world-class higher technical education to increase the supply of highly skilled employees across key industries.
